Owen Beck set to make his season debut after being recalled from the Laval Rocket on Sunday evening.

Jacob Fowler will make his third consecutive start, while Jakub Dobes is expected to get the nod Wednesday against the Washington Capitals.

Late Tuesday morning team announced that they will be without defenseman Mike Matheson when they host the Buffalo Sabres at 6:30 pm ET on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre. Matheson is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Matheson joins a growing Canadiens injury list that already included forwards Florian Xhekaj and Oliver Kapanen, who after missing practice on Monday, were not available for the team’s morning skate on Tuesday morning. Both Xhekaj and Kapanen remain day-to-day and there were no definitive updates on their status for the rest of the week.
